Privacy Policy

Footprint, operated by Bay Web Digital LLC and Jug LLC, provides a mobile app that lets you track and “claim” the places you visit (the “App”). This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your choices. Contact: support@footprintapp.earth.

Information we collect

  • Account: your email address and a sign-in identifier (Sign in with Apple, Google, or email/password).
  • Profile: username, profile photo, hometown, birth date, and favorite places you add.
  • Location (optional):your precise location, used to center the map and detect when you arrive in a new place so you can claim it — in the background only if you grant “Always.” You can claim places manually instead.
  • Contacts (optional):if you choose to find friends, we match an irreversible hashed version of your contacts’ email addresses against other users. We don’t store your contacts.
  • Content: photos you attach to claims and your profile.
  • Social: friends, activity, users you block, and reports you submit.
  • Technical:standard server-log data processed by our providers to run and secure the App. We don’t use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.

How we use it

To operate the App (sign-in, claiming places, stats, and badges), detect places to claim, connect you with friends if you opt in, keep the service secure, and meet legal obligations.

How we share it

We don’t sell your data. We share it only with the providers that run our infrastructure — Supabase (database, authentication, storage), Apple (Sign in with Apple, maps), and Google (Google sign-in) — with other users as you choose through your privacy settings, and where required by law.

Retention, deletion, and your choices

We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account anytime in Settings → Delete Account, which removes your account and associated data. You can turn location and contacts access on or off anytime in iOS Settings.

Children

Footprint is for users 13 and older. We don’t knowingly collect data from children under 13; contact us and we’ll delete it.
